VOICE THREAD

What is a VoiceThread?

 

Voice Threads are like online conversations about photos and/or videos.  Comments can be video, sound, text, or drawn. Voice Thread is a very flexible tool, so it can be used for a huge variety of uses such as:

- Art Portfolios describing process used at each step, or just a sample art gallery.

- Gather ing perspectives on an idea or concept from the students.

- Sharing new or exciting events for students.

- Collective student comments.

- Describing math methods.

- Orally publishing written work with artwork displayed on the slide.

- Uploading speeches for comments and feedback.

How to create your own Voice Thread

 

1. Go to  www.voicethread.com

2. Create a new Voice Thread account

3. Click on Create tab

4. Click on Upload to add images, movies, or Powerpoint presentations from your computer/student accout. Each image or movie you upload will create a separate Voicethread page.

 

Teacher Uses

 

- Hold group discussions on a certain topic

- Post images, movies, and presentations

- Projects

- Assessment tool

- Field Trips

- Foreign language

Student Uses

 

- Create a presentation for class

- Follow along on their own  computer, doodle, and take notes on the presentation

- Each student can have an account under their Teacher/Class

This was an intersting concept. I like that you can add a video, picture... and then add a voice and have other people respond or make comments about it. I also like that you can use it with a smartboard and let the kids draw with it.

I loved seeing the way the class used this to discuss the intenment camps. Thank you for also sharing one that you had created, it is obvious that you have deep knowledge of this innovation!

I really liked the presentation. This seems really easy to use and work well for kids of all ages.
